Minecraft CherryHaven't updated in some time, but I played Minecraft for the first time last night and I have to write about it.
Let me say Minecraft is the best survival horror game I've ever played.
My first experience with it was the tutorial. Which has the steepest learning curve I've ever seen, and I already kind of knew how to play mine craft. My first night in the tutorial I was in a tiny 4x4 box in the dark (pitch black no light), my only sign that the day was coming was the lessening of the zombie moans outside. After the tutorial I said to myself, "Ok I have a basic idea of how to survive the night. I can do this."

I jumped into my first world. I started on a small snow covered island with a few others in the distance. Most of the islands were connected by ice bridges and surrounded by the vast sea. I set out to find a suitable place to start my new life in this frozen hell hole. After Island hopping for a while by crossing a few ice bridges I started to think maybe there was no mainland in my world.
Eventually I saw a fairly large Island off in the distance. It had a large snow covered hill on the side facing me. I figured the base of that hill was as good as I was going to find, at least for now.
Once I got there I realized I had no tools yet. I looked around, and saw no trees. It then hit me; in all my wandering I had yet to see one tree, and night was getting closer. I quickly went to work digging with my bare hands. Frantically working my way into the side of the hill. I spent my first night alone in a dark hole wondering how I would survive in an area like this, with no trees. I wondered what direction they might be in. Maybe there weren't any trees in my world. How could I do anything with out any trees? I saw alone for the night in my literal pit of despair.
Best survival horror game ever.
