There is nothing particularly interesting about me... at least, no more than most people.

I'm a nice guy almost all of the time... and the times I'm not, I'm usually alone.

I like people and not the Soylent Green way either... so be not afraid.

I tend to be overly analytical when idle... and underly analytical when engaged.

Is "underly" even a word?

I like pie... but I love cake!

On Being Up All Night...

Does anyone else remember in the late 80's / early 90's the USA network had late night programming on Friday and Saturday called USA Up All Night..? or was I the only one who suffered childhood insomnia?

Anyway... it was the best late night programming ever. On Friday nights it was hosted by none other than Gilbert freaking Gottfried and on Saturday nights by the ever bountiful B-movie bombshell Ronda Shear! The way it worked was the host or hostess would entertain the viewing audience during commercial breaks with silly segments that somehow related to the programming. On Friday nights the programming would consist of a pair of low-budget cult horror classics (or not so classics as the case may be.) Saturday nights would be low-budget 80's style comedies or melodramas, guaranteeing gratuitous T&A.

Now I know what you must be thinking. "What the hell is a pre-pubescent kid doing watching this kind of programming?" Well, I would watch these programs every weekend for a few reasons. One, as mentioned earlier, I was a bit of an insomniac... still am from time to time actually (hence the graveyard shift.) Also, I had nothing better to do. I didn't really have the most "active" social life as a kid, so I watched a lot of T.V. Mostly, though... as a pre-pubescent boy, I have to say there is nothing like a little soft-core porn edited for T.V. to motivate you to stay up maybe a bit later than you probably should.

Granted, I probably shouldn't have been able to comprehend the adult oriented humor, themes or situations at the tender age of 9 or 10... but, alas, I did. I was never really sheltered from that kind of stuff and there were some really entertaining films that I got to enjoy, which I suspect many people my age probably don't even know exist.

Like... I was a Porky's fanatic as a kid... or the Bikini Carwash series (truly classic). This is where I was introduced to the brilliance/madness of Roger Corman and Troma Films! Or the Meatball series with Meathead! Who else knows the name of the extremely cheesy vampire film staring a young Jim Carry, well before he was ever even on In Living Color? What about Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, or Killer Clowns from Outer Space? Oh man... the memories are just flooding back. I can't even tell you how many times I've seen Zapped! or Zapped Again! because of the USA Network!

Anyway... this is the kind of crap I think about working the graveyard shift, by myself, sitting here staring at the computer waiting for something to happen.

INTERESTS
Mostly stuff... and you know... some things (see below).
FAVORITE MUSIC
I like at least a little something from most generas... except for trendy pop. I mostly listen to the local Alternative Rock station but seeing as I'm in Seattle (the birthplace of Alt Rock some might say) I think I get to hear a lot of fresh and interesting music. I also like some hip-hop (emphasis on the some). I usualy only listen to hip-hop at a night club or when hanging out with certain friends though. Favorite Artists: SUBLIME; The Bloodhound Gang; Greenday; Red Hot Chili Peppers; Nirvana; Foo Fighters; Beck; DMB; Jack Johnson; Ludacris; Eminem; Alice In Chains; TOOL; Death Cab for Cutie; Postal Service; White Stripes; Raconteurs; Wolf Mother; Jet; MC Chris; MC Frontalot; Beastie Boys; Morcheeba; Supreme Beings of Leisure...
FAVORITE MOVIES
I LOVE MOVIES... if I am a geek about anything it's about movies. I've seen many own many and get very excited about a few. In general I'm not the most discerning of movie buffs. In fact I've been described as a movie slut... that is that I enjoy movies for the sake movies (as a slut enjoys sex for the sake of sex... mmmm I sure do love sluts... Oh sorry trailed off there for a sec...) Anyway I'll watch almost anything and will find something to enjoy about most things but because I am such a slut for movies I do have a tendency to be dissapointed. So in the end I'm hyper-critical about movies but I am usualy able to find something good in almost anything... except David Lynch freaking pretentious non-movie making mother...
FAVORITE TV SHOWS
I stopped watching TV all together for a really long time... and have only recently gotten back into it I'm still not sure if it's a good thing or not. I hate getting into a series that I won't be able to watch fairly regularly and keep up on so I usually just DVD those... otherwise I watch a lot of sports poker The Daily Show Colbert Report and other Comedy Central re-runs and Adult Swim fare: Famly Guy Futurama Metalocalypse and ATHF. Current Favorite Series (wanting to by DVDs): CSI and CSI: NY (Miami is awful but I watch it too) Numbers Grey's Anatomy House Scrubs Sopranos... All Time Favorite Classics: The Simpsons Star Trek: TNG MASH Red Dwarf Friends...
FAVORITE BOOKS
I tend to find an author and try to devour everything I can get my hands on of theirs. Favorite authors are: Chuck Palahniuk Douglas Adams Kurt Vonnegut Tom Robbins Neil Gaimon and Shakesphere. Other great books I've read and would recommend are "Handling Sin"; "Memoirs of a Gesha" "Youth in Revolt" "The Poisonwood Bible" "Middlesex" "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay" "The Lovely Bones" and anything by David Sedaris... and yes I like the Harry Potter series.
FAVORITE VIDEO GAMES
I've never been very good at vidoe games which is why I've never really developed into much of a gamer... but recently I';ve enjoyed Wii Sports in general and Guitar Hero 1 & 2. I really enjoy watching my hardcore gamer roommate play games... recently Oblivion on the PC and Zelda on the Wii. I really want him to get God of War 2 because it looks pretty sweet and I';ve heard good things.

Ah, Public Access Television, the key to foreign exports - a bit like English chanel Five.

BTW: I'm currently shamelessly plugging the "Calling All Red Team Fans" new character idea:
If you're Red, why not head down to the Red Team Fan Forum to comment on this new character idea?

Art by ME.
