26 year-old female from CO or VT or IL
Moving across the country... currently within the city of Chicago, after leaving the green mountains in Vermont, and longing for the rockies back in Colorado.
Professional student with more need of money. The biggest bummer about this job is there's no way to get paid for it (yet).
Still figuring out the rest of my life, but at this point I have a pretty good idea of what direction I need to walk. That's a feeling I never thought I'd feel, and I have to tell you it's frightening, and uplifting all at the same time.
Also I really want a dog....

Chicago
Within the gigantic city of Chicago, and although I keep mentioning this city, it's huge to my eyes, I am still used to the farm/cow mentality of the green mountains in Vermont. So here I am in this huge city with tons of opportunities, and scared out of mind to do anything besides study for class, and explore the near neighborhood when I can. *sigh* where are my creeks, rivers, hiking trails, and ski resorts ;)
I thought I had more guts than this, trust me, but I guess I got a little too comfortable in the green mountains. It'll pass, first thing I need to do is just find someone whom I can follow around the city with and show me the places I can go.
I guess one of the things I need to drop from the east, is my inability to talk to a variety of people, and suck it up go to a decent enough pub and meet a couple of people who may at least guide me to where I may go.
It's funny I never thought I would have this large of an issue, but there you have it in black and white.
I miss my west, and the people from there. I hope you all are well and things are fantastic, as soon as I'm done with school I plan to head back out there. You'll see :)

My favorite books (texts included) that I usually read at the moment are case studies for the USMLE textbooks ranging from Immunology Emergency Medicine Cell Biology Prokayotic Genetics and Stats.
Books I like to read are kinda few are far between at the moment between studying for classes and memorizing my anatomy. When I find a good one to read on the train I'll keep you all updated. :) |
