Making it through today
I've got a massively busy day today for school. I'm taking my Social Psychology final, which pretty much determines how i'll do in the class.I only actually have about two and a half weeks of school left, not counting Thanksgiving break. I'll be back around the social scene once I finish Skyrim. (I don't fear major spoilers, but I hate having little surprises ruined for me.) If I can make it through today i'll be able to sit down and really give you a run through of what I've been doing in Skyrim. For now I'll give you a small overview. I started as a thieving wood elf, but that wasn't working well for me, and magic looked WAY to fun, so I switched. I am now the high-elf mage Raktus Za'hul. I leave armor and swords for the little people without a higher understanding of the arcane arts, like my wife, Lydia, who is also my housecarl. I've killed nearly a dozen dragons and have several powerful shouts, including my two favorite so far, frost breath and fire breath. I'm now focusing more on the main storyline, and am leaving the side quests for afterwards. I haven't gotten around to play around with enchanting yet, but I will soon, I've got plans to create some powerful robes, or maybe i'll just further my place in the college of Winterhold. It's been interesting for me because my roommate, Tyler, who is a good nerd like us, has converted his girlfriend from being a person who thought it was dumb, to a person he has to fight the controller for. And Kayla and I have been switching back and forth, she loves the simple pleasures of being a warrior, running up to a group of enemies and smashing their heads in. I've been pleasantly surprised by how little help the girls need, they both seem to have really good grasp on how to deal with sticky situations. This game is so wonderful, I really have to hand it to Bethesda, they can truly make a game that reaches out and grabs me by the face, and doesn't let go. Also I heard that installing the game on the hard drive keeps the graphics from being optimized, can anyone confirm this for me? Thanks, Matt |
