Growing Pains... Me
Being a senior-level employee at a prestigious university by the age of 20 can be a very confusing thing.
I have a job generally held by 25+ year olds, but I still feel 16. My life has just flowed from one thing to another so seamlessly since sophomore year of high school that I haven't noticed the man I've grown into.
Maybe it's because I never left the city I grew up in, or maybe because my social circles always seemed to expand based on those I already knew, not because I met new people.
Either way, I now face the reality of my situation. I hold a very nice full-time job, with great benefits. I have direction and passion in my life, and I'm slowly building the focus to full-fill the necessary goals.
I know it's time for me to cut back on my partying, and risky behavior, if only to NOT FUCK UP my current situation.
It won't be easy, and it hurts to let go of the things I think I want the most, but I know if I want a future for myself, the past has to pass.
I've got it good, and should keep it that way.
