She fools all the lovers, again...*deep breath*
It's been awhile.
Especially for me.
To my credit, I've sat down and thought about posting many times over the last few weeks and just... not known anything to say really.
I thought about squeeing about the wedding but... what is there really to say? Yes, I'm thrilled to be married. Yes, I'm relieved it's over. No, nothing is different about married life (save that the gas bill is cheaper). I don't do or not do anything now that I didn't do two months ago... save that at the end of the day, I don't go back to my parents place. I don't go anywhere. I deadbolt the door behind us and stay.
I must say it's nice. I'm still not quite used to it. I still catch myself thinking about what excuse I'm going to give my parents about why I need to be at Charlie's apartment but then I remember... it's not Charlie's. Not just his anyway.
It's nice, I guess. That's my answer to everyone asking me, 'How's married life???' It's nice. What I don't say is that it's nice to not have to lie, walk on eggshells, make plans around other people's moral hangups and worry about from whence the next drama bomb will come. It's nice to have the freedom to go where I want, sleep where I want and be who I want to be.
'Nice' is the word.
It's nice.
Anyway... my life is very pleasant of late. I spend most of my time keeping up with housework lately, since I got horribly behind last week while I was sick. I also think I've played more GuildWars in the last month than I ever played in the threeish years prior. It's sort of a combination of making some great friends in the game recently, and being snatched into a guild that actually does something other than guild battles every blue moon that falls on a Tuesday and then only win if Saturn is in line with Orion's left testicle.
About the only downside of late has been a serious lack of hours at work. I worked -once- this week at BBW. It's the week before Thanksgiving, people. Usually, I'm in that store so much that by the end of the holidays, my pores ooze shea butter and Japanese Cherry Blossom shower gel. Not so, though. I guess it's the crisis in the economy. I might not even be working Black Friday. Astounding.
It's alright in a way though. Sure, my budget will be tight, but on the bright side, I nearly have all my Christmas shopping done and I have a ton of stuff that I can do with that free time.
Here's a run-down of my foreseeable future.
Tomorrow: Choir and Charlie's birthday dinner at P.F. Chang's... house cleaning, laundry and the like before. I also need to run by work and pick up the schedule for next week.
Friday: It's opening night for the movie Twilight. Charlie and I are going in formal wear like the geeks that we are. I need to finish Breaking Dawn before I go. Maybe, I'll do that tomorrow.
Saturday: I have a ton of running around to do with my mom. I have to deliver all the gifts to the ladies who threw my shower, and then my mom is showing me how to make her famous spaghetti and stuffed peppers. Woo!
The following week is the week of Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday. I don't really know my exact schedule yet, but I'll be out of town from Wednesday afternoon until Friday afternoon. There promises to be food and presents and merriment for all!
I have a few plans already in the works for Christmas but nothing concrete yet.
Anyway... I'm going to run. Just thought I wouldn't be a stranger for once.
Love and Cookies,
Hester
PS: Recipes to follow soon... I have some great cookies to share! Also, yes there will be wedding pictures. I just need to get them off the cd.
