So...I Kinda Rule Mars Now
It started out as a joke in my History class this morning. We were looking at a map of early America, who claimed which territory and that. My proffessor had this pretty shaded map in his powerpoint and everything. It had trading bases, soldier camps, all that. And there was this huge void in the west. Not where California is, mind, because they could get to that via the coast. No, more like Colorado and Utah. The French had it (without any posts, bases, or soldiers) then the Spanish had it in the same sense. It went back and forth between the two until America took charge and people actually started to live there. So I go up to my prof after class, and we're looking at the map.

"So, it was theirs just because they said it was?"

"Pretty much."

"You know what? I own Mars. And what's more, I defy you or anybody else to say I don't."

"Do you have a flag?" It's a joke he ripped from watching an Eddie Izzard dvd. Hernandez shows up to Central America and claims it for Spain. A native walks up and says 'Um...yeah, this is kinda our land. We've lived here for centuries and stuff, so...quit claiming it.' 'Do you have a flag?' Hernandez asks. 'Hang on.' Native turns to his budies. 'Hey, guys, do we have a flag?' Turns back. 'Nope, no flag.' 'I claim this land in the name of Spain.'

And that was the end of it. Until I got to work and really started thinking about it. I started out picking pop music anthems and saying that leaders would be picked gthrough pitched combat with crappy Star Trek fight music on in the background. Then I started thinking about Hillary and Obama going through that, and I laughed my ass off. But it evolved a bit after that into a full blown thought experiment. Think about it. If you had a whole planetary government to set up, what would you do?

Interests Red vs. Blue! I really love it. Pretty much any web series especially Bonus Stage (www.bonusstages.com)! I swim and read Sci-fi if you can call those sorry excuses for a waste of time interests. Video games couch potatory and school top my to-do list. Also anything gambling related especially any type of poker. My biggest thing is reading and writing fanfics. I mean it man fan fics are a lost art. All my friends say fanfics in general suck mine in particular but they can go horsedoodle.
FMAPRESHWAB'S...
Music I'm really big on Green Day Eve 6 The Killers All American Rejects Train Plain White Tees Fallout Boy Goldfinger and Crossfade. I am a huge Panic! at the Disco fan too and Blue October. I'm finding new stuff all the time. I really like the Eagles and Elvis. Hey they have some good stuff out there man! "Mad World" is a great song. The Gary Jules cover not the original. Also the song "Saint Elmo's Fire". Don't know who sings it never seen the movie but I freaking love that song. And "Prayer of the Refugee". Anything on the radio pretty much. I listen to anything not involving a banjo.
Movies Fahrenheit 9/11 is one of the greatest movies in existence. Go out and buy it. Best five bucks I ever spent... Also An Inconvinient Truth kicks ass. Don't be fooled by the fact that it stars Al Gore it is amazing. So is A Convinent Truth (shut up I spelled it like that for a reason) but that's different entirely. Worth a look but still. Serenity was also a great one for anyone who cares which you all should on the basis that it kicks ass. Dr. Strangelove was really good too. Green Berets and Good Morning Vietnam are great Vietnam War movies and everyone needs to watch them. The Scream trilogy LOTR X-men 1 and 3 Silent Hill Lucky Number Slevin Star Wars 4-6 Little Miss Sunshine etc.
TV Shows M*A*S*H. House. House House. M*A*S*H. House. M*A*S*H! Two of the greatest shows ever to find their way into existence not even kidding. If you've never seen them then you need to pay a visit to the shame corner. Now that that';s out of the way I'm a Sci-fi nerd. Star Trek (all five series and ten movies) Stargate (both SG1 and Atlantis for they are the own) Battlestar (geez could they cram star in there one more time?) Eureka and Firefly. John Doe was a good show once upon a time but the idiots at Fox cancelled it. I'm also big on cartoon characters who swear so I love The Simpsons Futurama Family Guy etc. Lost is a big hit with me and I absotively posolutely love Fullmetal Alchemist. And That 70's Show. Nip/Tuck and The Shield are really good too. I would also like to make it known that Psyche kicks ass. And Monk.
Books There's all the Sci-fi nerd things I mentioned but in book form. Lord of the Rings topped my charts along with the Harry Potter series. For those of you interested in the political scene Dude Where's My Country? and Stupid White Guys (both Michael Moore's handiwork) are definitly worth a look.
