Me and My 'Things' Been a while, hasn't it?
Lately I have been feeling a great deal of compulsions; the compulsion to buid a Death Korps of Krieg army, the compulsion to assemble a Death Korps of Krieg Commissar costume to wear in the army's inaugural battle, the compulsion to create a Plague Doctor costume and the compulsion to learn some more German, and that's only a handful of them. Strong theme there, right?
Anyway, point is I have been feeling so ambivalent of late. I am normally considered somewhat ecclectic at the best of times, but as it is standing right now I just plain don't know if what I want will be anything that will staisfy me for any length of time, it is most irritating.
Now, for my obligatory rant about my media irks, I was rummaging through some old boxes last week looking for nothing in particular, when I stumbled upon a VHS case for none other than my favourite silent film, Metropolis, To my dismay the case was empty, and so I vowed to set forth into the black heart of Glasgow to seek out Metropolis on DVD, and while I was at it Blood Bowl for my Xbox. I returned defeated, nowhere had either of them. Now, the lack of Metropolis, I can rightly understand, after all, there's very little demand for silent films now, however Blood Bowl, a game released only last year to be nowhere first hand, and for the second hand versions to be full retail price caught me greatly off guard, so being in a particularly skinflint mood I returned home with no bounty . . . . except Aliens Vs Predator. THE GAME! THE GAME! NOT THE MOVIE! I then shot over to ever reliable Play.com to sate my entertainment desires, I was utterly flabergasted at the pricing, so, over to Amazon, no better, at this point I just gave up all hope of finding either at a decent price until a chance stumble upon Zavvi showed Blood Bowl for a perfectly reasonable £14.95 OUT OF STOCK . Sucks to be me.
